Chapter 6.1: Set up OpenVPN
Go to ClearOS and click on Network -> VPN -> OpenVPN and click on Configure Security Certificates
Insert you data and create the certificate
Click on Continue
Click on Network -> VPN -> OpenVPN, then click on Allow connections
Confirm the security exception
Click on Network -> Firewall -> Incoming firewall and disable the OpenVPN-TCP port, we will not use it.
Click on Network -> VPN -> OpenVPN, then click on Hide this warning
Start the OpenVPN service
Disable Auto Configuration, then click on Update
Click on System -> Accounts -> Users, then click on Install and Initialize Built-in Directory
When the installation finishes, click on Add to create a new user, insert your personal data and choose an OpenVPN user name and an OpenVPN password
Sign out and login using the OpenVPN user name and an OpenVPN password
Click on User certificates and insert a strong password. You probably won’t need this password anymore.
Download all the certificates, the configuration file, sign out and log in as root
Set up your OpenVPN client with the files you just downloaded and start an OpenVPN connection to ClearOS using the OpenVPN user name and the OpenVPN password.
